Get up early tomorrow morning, child, and walk along the cobblestone streets of Pol Jannis, just after the Dancer has finished painting her sunrise. Walk beyond the marketplace and the Sky Blue Palace, and make your way to the Wall– but make sure to avoid Tlasuna along the way. Once you’re at the Wall, you’ll see a big mound of pink fur. Sit down a few feet away from it, and wait until the sun has risen up in the sky; he’s a bit of an oversleeper. But when the sun is in the sky, he’ll eventually stop snoring, see you, and you can tell him your wish.
Oh, you’ll know him when you see him, dear. Quite simply put, he’s a pink, fluffy bunny– that’s why we call him the Pluffabun. Not to mention he’s at least eighteen feet tall. But that was when I was a child… He grows so fast, he’s probably at least twenty by now.
No, don’t worry, dear! He’s not scary at all. The Pluffabun is the guardian of every child in the city. Why? He’s a great listener. Well, of course he can’t talk! That’s not what I mean. Everyone in the city feels safe speaking to the Pluffabun, and he always does what is best for the next generation.
Oh, I don’t know exactly when the Pluffabun first emerged in Pol Jannis, but legend has it that he’s the Dancer’s best friend, and the Dancer has been painting the skies for centuries. And something else about him: the Pluffabun never gets involved in political affairs, and never goes to the Sky Blue Palace. His only priority is you all, my dear.
Your dream will be safe with the Pluffabun. Share your greatest wish with the Pluffabun, and it will always come true. It’s what he does all day– he spends every moment of his life trying to make the childrens’ deepest desires come true… except the many moments he spends sleeping, of course. It takes a lot of sleep to be that adorable all the time, child.
Us adults can’t see him anymore, did you know? After you turn eighteen, the Pluffabun disappears forever from your sight.
Yes, of course we miss him, but we all know he’s still here with us. And now it’s your turn to see him. Now, you’ve thought long and hard about this wish, haven’t you? Good. Well then, hurry along to bed, and tomorrow morning you can go see him for yourself. Make sure to be polite, please and thank you, and give him my best wishes. Good night, child.
